The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) manages the flow of electric power to 24 million Texas customers, representing 90 percent of the state’s electric load. As the Independent System Operator for the region, ERCOT’s primary function is to maintain the reliability of the power grid and Demand Response programs play an important role in achieving this goal.
The Emergency Response Service program has three contract periods: February to May, June to September, and October to January.
To participate in the Load Resource program, a business must first be registered as a Load Resource with ERCOT, which can take up to 90 days. ERCOT also requires 4-second data and an under-frequency relay (UFR) for Load Resource participation.
You can generate recurring revenue by committing to reduce your electricity consumption through the Direct Energy Business Demand Response program. From customizing your curtailment plan to distributing your monthly payments, we will help simplify your participation.
