Usage and Spend Alerts

On the Usage and Spend Alerts tab, you can monitor your monthly usage and energy spend by tracking the differences in your utility meter reads. When your usage or spend varies from the previous meter read by a specific percentage that you set, MyAccount sends you an email alert notifying you of the variance.  To set this alert:

  • Select the meter read variance percentage that will trigger an alert to be sent.
  • Select the accounts you would like to monitor with the usage and spend alert.
  • Click “Save Usage & Spend Alert Preferences” to set your alert.
Note: if you have more than one customer in MyAccount, you will have to select the customer you want the alert for on the Usage and Spend Alerts page.

Market Alerts

On the Market Alerts tab, you can monitor natural gas price movement (based on NYMEX settlements at Henry Hub), along with several regional electricity price indices and receive an alert(s) when the commodity price move above or below your specified levels.  When you set a Market Alert, if the market price (of whichever price index/indices) exceeds the high/low set price you designate, you will receive an email and a message in the MyAccount Message Center.  To set this alert:
  • Click “New Alert” on the Market Alerts page.
  • On the New Alert page, which contains multiple options for the type of energy market you can monitor, fill in your criteria for the alert.
  • Click “Save” to set your Market Alert. 
Important Note: Setting an alert does not generate an order. Prices displayed in this report are provided for informational purposes only and DO NOT represent your current price. Energy market data is sourced directly from eSignal and is delayed up to 30 minutes. The electricity pricing shown represents the prior trading day's closing price. The commodities listed show wholesale prices and not all commodity markets are included. For the most up-to-date pricing information on any Direct Energy Business provided commodity, please contact a Direct Energy Business sales representative.

Power Billing Report

The Power Billing Report is an Excel report of detailed interval power billing information. This report is only available for electricity customers.


Contract Performance Report

Available for select accounts, the Contract Performance Report is a web based report which allows you to view your contracted volume and cost versus your actual. To view your contract performance report, log into MyAccount and access the report on the Reports & Alerts tab.


Trigger History Report

The Trigger History Report is a web based report for natural gas customers which allows you to view the gas triggers which have occurred for the selected accounts.
