Industrial Demand Rebounds
According to a methanol and fertilizer plant report from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), industrial natural gas use in Texas has increased dramatically since 2008, while Louisiana use has increased steadily since 2001. A small fertilizer plant could use 50 dekatherms a day, while a large plant could use 200 dekatherms or more per day
Indiana Demand at a 20-Year High
In the Mid-Continent and Midwest regions, industrial demand is stable to rising, while in Indiana demand is booming. Despite milder weather across the country, natural gas prices may not be dropping significantly due to industrial demand in these areas.
