On Friday, Direct Energy was honored to announce our $5 million commitment to Texas Children’s Hospital — the largest corporate gift ever made to a Texas Children’s Hospital campaign priority.

The commitment — which was made in support of the hospital's Promise Campaign and with hundreds in attendance — will help Texas Children’s Heart Center serve more patients in the Houston, Texas, and across the nation. It will specifically focus on growing the critical, surgical and emergency care services and facilities at Texas Children’s Heart Center, which is currently ranked second nationally in cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report.

The video below highlights Direct Energy's ongoing support of Texas Children's Hospital.

“Direct Energy’s generous support will help ensure Texas Children’s is able to continue to provide highly specialized care to each and every child who comes to us for help – and particularly to those who are the most critically ill and have the most complex needs,” said Mark Wallace, president and CEO of Texas Children's.

Given the Texas Children's vitally important work in the Houston community and nationwide, the gift came as an easy decision for Direct Energy.

“Texas Children’s is a world-class provider of pediatric care and Direct Energy is proud to join forces with this extraordinary institution and make this meaningful gift,” said Direct Energy president and CEO Badar Khan. “We know our partnership with Texas Children’s will make a difference in the health and well-being of countless children and families.”
