read | Share:

Direct Energy Business is excited to bring the Small Business Community Heroes award program to the Cleveland area for the first time. Direct Energy is committed to serving residential and business customers in Cleveland, and throughout Ohio. We are also passionate about investing in the communities in which we live and work.

The Small Business Community Heroes award program will recognize a small business owner who exemplifies the volunteer spirit. Do you know a small business owner who makes his or her community a better place to live?

Here is quick snapshot of the details of the program:

  • A small business is defined as having less than 100 employees.
  • The Small Business Community Heroes award is open to all legal residents of Cleveland, or the Ohio counties of Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, or Geauga.
  • Nominations are open from January 8, 2015 and end February 12, 2015 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Nominations should be no longer than about 750 words and must detail the specific contributions the small business owner has made to improve the community through volunteerism.
  • Nominations should also include up to 250 words about the nominee’s small business.
  • The winner of the award will receive a $500 cash prize and a $2,000 donation to the winner’s community charity of choice (must be a 501(c)(3)).

If you know someone who is an outstanding volunteer and makes their community better, nominate them today and let us recognize their efforts. View our past winners here
