As part of its commitment to sustainability, Sprint plans to source 100 percent renewable energy across its national operations – all retail stores, offices, call centers and network sites – by 2025. The American telecom giant is striving to become a carbon neutral company by adding renewable power to its overall energy management strategy.

"We recognize the global importance of operating a sustainable company – it's the right thing to do and it makes good business sense," says Sprint President and CEO Michel Combes.

Sprint’s clean energy approach in Virginia reduces their CO2 emissions by 62,000 metric tons, equivalent to offsetting the electricity use of 10,000 U.S. homes for one year. The more corporate energy buyers, like Sprint, choose to purchase clean energy, the greater their collective impact.

“I’m proud that Sprint will be among the companies around the world committed to decreasing our carbon footprint and addressing the impacts of climate change. This is an issue that requires immediate and bold action, and that is why Sprint is stepping up in a big way,” says Combes.

Moving forward, Sprint will continue to reduce waste and invest in alternative energy to help meet their sustainability goals. By converting their Virginia electricity accounts to renewable power, Sprint is demonstrating a path to decarbonization and helping create a more environmentally sustainable future.
